A Weekend Away

If those dreams of a long holiday across a large body of water somewhere just aren’t a reality at the moment, a quick getaway with some girlfriends can do wonders. Our shores are teeming with villages beckoning you to wander a little, enjoy the scenery, eat something delicious, and then retreat for a night of pedicures and laughs. The Telegraph published a handy list earlier this year of its favourite English villages, and wherever you end up, we know what you should pack from our range of stylish plus size clothing.
Staithes, North Yorkshire: Situated at the northeastern edge of the North York Moors National Park, Staithes will definitely have you feeling that you’ve escaped the daily grind. Dramatic coastline, otherworldly skies, and a compact centre provide the right mix of culture and nature. Rent a holiday cottage and stock up on libations. What to pack: our double-split tunic dress and Darcia Lounge jumpsuit, pedicure kit.
Orford, Suffolk: You might see the sun here and the village makes for delightful wandering, so pack at least one of our maxi dresses and the Phylicia Lounge jumpsuit, and you’ll be ready for anything. You might be occupied enough to skip the evening pedicures. The Telegraph recommends fresh bread from the Pump Street Bakery. If you go, do let us know how it is.
The Ickworth Hotel and Apartments, near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk: Inland from Orford, this converted estate is admittedly a bit of a splurge. We’ll let the Telegraph describe it from here: “Bury St Edmunds is a few miles away, but with all due respect to that historic country town, a visit there would defeat the purpose of a stay. This is designed as a complete escape from the rigours of modern life – you shouldn’t need to leave until check-out.” We recommend all loungewear, all the time, plus the pedicure kit.
