No Dresses Allowed

Winter offers us the best parties of the year, a place to unwind, dress up and let our hair down after yet another year of too much work and too little play.
Whether it is the office Christmas party, a family event or a winter night out with your best girls, there is no denying the competition to look and feel your very best among your friends, family and colleagues.
Despite the harsh British cold many women choose to show off their pins and dress up in their smallest little black dress or sparkling, sequin body-con mini dress in order to impress…
However, we at Pink Clove understand every woman is different. We appreciate not every woman is willing to chance frost bite and not every woman is comfortable in a tight fitting, mini dress.
So here is our guide to looking great at every Christmas party you attend this year – without wearing a dress or flashing your frozen pins.
Nothing says Christmas better than the colour red. Like Santa, the Coca Cola lorry and berries on the holly – red is a romantic and passionate colour with more Christmas connotation than any other. Our tartan trouser suit nips in your waist, flatters your curves and it suitable for any kind of Christmas party.
The cigarette pants are this season’s fashion “must have” – ours have been fitted with a covered elastic waist band, meaning you can help yourself to as many helpings of Christmas pud as you like, without feeling uncomfortable.
The open blazer-style-jacket gives you the freedom to dress up or dress down the outfit with your choice of tee or shirt. Think flirty with a flash of cleavage, or professional with a smart white blouse.
Tunics are by no means a new clothing trend, in fact they are dated as far back as Ancient Greece, however they are very new on the fashion market and our favourite new style of tee.
Tunics, in particular this sparkly number, are perfect for Christmas parties as they are more dressy than a plain tee, but not quite a dress. They are perfect when teamed with leggings and heels, or knee high boots and look great when worn with a long, winter coat.
Jumpsuits are fairly new to the market and were hugely popular in the summer months – but jumpsuits are also perfect for winter, so don’t go packing away your favourite all-in-ones just yet!
As they are often loose fitting, they trap heat between the layers, helping you to keep warm. They can also be worn with leggings and strappy tees underneath to give you an even better level of warmth and comfort.
They look great with teamed with small ankle boots or a bright coloured pair of heels and can be worn with any good winter coat.
Like tights, leggings are perfect for wearing with a dress to keep you a little warmer. However, unlike tights, leggings are thick enough and warm enough to be worn without a dress or skirt.
Leggings can be worn as an “insulation layer” underneath any trousers, jumpsuits or tights or just as an alternative to jeans or trousers. However, we like them best when teamed with a dressy and glamourous tee and some killer heeled ankle boots.
Just don’t forget your winter coat!
