Which Dresses Flatter your Body Type?
It never hurts to go shopping armed with a little extra knowledge to help you make the right choice. Expert stylists know a few simple tips to help their clients shop for items that will be truly flattering, so why shouldn’t you? Read on to find out which plus size dresses are perfect for your unique shape.
Straight Body. We don’t all have hourglass figures but we can certainly create the illusion! If your figure lacks definition at the waist line go for belted styles that draw you in. You can also add a wide belt to a dress to achieve the same effect.
Wide Hips. Wide hips are never a bad thing b if you’re looking to camouflage yours just a bit a swingy dress with an A line skirt might be just the ticket. It allows for movement and flair, falling gracefully over your hips. To keep things balanced look for an A line dress with a tighter top.
Pear Shape. If your top half is narrower than your bottom half, try drawing the eye up. A low cut neck line can help you show off some skin. You can even add an eye-catching necklace.
Keep the top half light and bright in colours or pastels, whilst dressing your bottom half in black or other dark colours. Some plus size dresses do have lighter tops and darker skirts, but you can also achieve the look by pairing a lighter blouse with a darker skirt.
Hour Glass. If you’ve got an hour glass figure sometimes your curves really speak for themselves. You don’t have to wear low cut tops or shorter skirts. Try a fitted dress with a slightly higher neck line and lower hem line; keep accessories to a minimum and really let your shape be the focus of attention- without going overboard.
With Christmas coming up we hope these tips help you find a flattering dress for every occasion!
